The Elle TENS 2: pain relief for contractions, without medication

During childbirth, you naturally want to be as well prepared as possible for the pain that contractions bring. The Elle TENS 2 was developed for exactly this: a small device that uses mild electrical impulses to influence your nerves, so that pain signals come through less strongly and your body produces extra endorphins. Designed for use during labor

The controls are simple and clear, with a BOOST function that lets you switch on extra intensity right away during an intense contraction. The built-in contraction counter is also handy, letting you and your partner (or midwife) track the pattern of your contractions. Thanks to the neck cord, the device is always within reach, even while you're walking around or changing position.

You attach the electrodes to your lower back; from there they work most effectively against contraction pain. Batteries are already included, so you can get started right away without needing to charge anything first.

When should you start using it?

You can start as soon as contractions begin. Most women notice the benefit especially during dilation, but it can also provide relief for back pain or during pushing. You decide for yourself when and how strongly to use it — for many women, that sense of control is just as valuable as the pain-relieving effect itself.

Midwives and maternity care providers are often familiar with TENS and can help advise on the right electrode placement and settings.
